Chatelaine: Microdosing and Menopause Anxiety

Menopause came with the typical symptoms – insomnia, hot flashes, weight gain, brain fog etc… So many super fun moments. What I didn’t expect were the mental challenges – debilitating anxiety, depression, grief, and heightened PTSD.

After trying many other options, I experimented with microdosing psilocybin, or magic mushrooms, and documented the process. I wrote for Chatelaine Magazine about placing myself in the middle of a social-emotional experiment.

Those of you who know me know that I am justifiably terrified of illicit drug use, so this brought its own challenges. I believe women (and everyone) should have all kinds of health options available.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks Tara. Very interesting. Do you think this therapy would help anyone dealing with persistent depression? Or are you advising it mainly for menopausal women…? My friends son is 32 and chronically depressed and recently was in a serious car accident. We are worried about his mental state.
